A closed cooling tower (also called an evaporative air cooler, sealed cooling tower, or enclosed cooling tower) houses a tubular heat exchanger within the tower. The cooling effect is achieved through heat exchange between circulating air, spray water outside the tubes, and circulating water within the tubes.
Because the circulating water circulates within the tubes in a closed loop, it ensures water quality is uncontaminated, effectively protecting the efficient operation of the main equipment and extending its service life. When the outside temperature is low, the spray water system can be shut down, saving water.
With the implementation of national energy conservation and emission reduction policies and the increasing scarcity of water resources, closed cooling towers have been widely used in industries such as steel and metallurgy, power electronics, machining, and air conditioning systems.
